Joanne Troutner

PFSB Honorary Member

Joanne Troutner is a Purdue alumna with bachelor (’74) and master (’76) degrees from the College of Liberal Arts (major: School Library and AV). She served many years as an educator, beginning as a high school library media specialist at Lafayette Jefferson High School, teaching middle school and retiring from Tippecanoe School Corporation as the Director of Media and Technology. Following retirement, Joanne spent ten years as a professional development presenter in the U.S. and Canada.

 

She is the author of the book, The Media Specialist, the Microcomputer, and the Curriculum (1983), and also wrote for the School Library Journal and Emergency Librarian. Joanne also served as secretary and second vice-president of the American Association of School Librarians. Joanne has served as chair of the President’s Council Advisory Board.

 

She is currently serving on the LSIS DAC and the PCAB. Joanne is instrumental in helping revive Women for Purdue and the newly merged Purdue Women’s Network.
