Nehemiah is a third-year majoring in Neurobiology and Physiology, with minors in Spanish for the Professions and Chemistry, and a certificate in Medical Humanities. Born in the heart of Lawrence Township in Indianapolis, IN, he has continued to pursue his passions beyond his wildest dreams. Outside of the Purdue Foundation Student Board, you can catch him at Chaney-Hale Hall of Sciences or Wetherill where he is a General Chemistry Teacher and Assistant. Additionally, he is Vice President of Caduceus Club, the premier pre-health club here at Purdue, where he has previously organized and gone on medical service trips to Guatemala and Costa Rica to further understand healthcare in alternative settings. Moreover, he works as a Student Belonging Advocate and Honors Ambassadors at the John Martinson Honors College. Lastly, he serves as treasurer for the Multicultural Science Program Ambassadors.
With his excitement for biology and chemistry, he currently works in Dr. Nathaniel Mabe's lab examining the mechanisms of oncogene regulation in pediatric neuroblastomas in the context of epigenetics. He has worked as an emergency department scribe at IU Health Arnett through INScribe. With his collective experiences, he aspires to attend medical school to become an equity-minded physician. He is so excited to see how PFSB can further enrich his perspective of what it means to be a never-ending boilermaker.
